For general outdoor covering or scenarios involving only occasional oil contact, standard PVC tarpaulins are perfectly adequate. However, for industrial applications involving frequent contact with engine oil—such as auto repair, heavy machinery operations, or oilfield work—it is recommended to use specialized oil-resistant modified PVC tarpaulins.
