Introduction
In modern industry and daily life, PVC Embossing Tarpaulin is a widely used material. From truck tarpaulins, stretched structures to temporary tents, it is widely popular for its waterproof, wear-resistant and lightweight features. But do you know how this seemingly ordinary "plastic sheet" is made?
A comprehensive analysis of the production process
1. Raw material preparation
The core raw material of PVC waterproof fabric is PVC resin powder. However, to endow the material with properties such as softness and aging resistance, a "secret formula", such as plasticizer, needs to be added. It acts like "lubricating oil" to make PVC soft. Stabilizers can prevent the decomposition of materials during high-temperature processing. UV absorbers are essential anti-ultraviolet components for outdoor fabrics. Flame retardants (optional) are used in special scenarios such as fire protection and mines. After these raw materials are mixed in precise proportions, they will enter a high-speed mixer and form a uniform paste at around 110℃.
2. Coating process
The well-mixed PVC slurry will be coated in multiple layers on both the front and back sides of the polyester fiber mesh fabric through an automated coater. The bottom layer is approximately 0.1-0.2mm thick and is closely combined with the grid. The outermost layer undergoes embossing treatment, with a thickness of approximately 0.3mm. The entire process is like making a mille-feuille cake. Through a precisely temperature-controlled (180-220℃) roller, each layer is repeatedly pressed to ensure complete fusion.
3. Embossing process
This is the core step in creating the Embossing effect. First, heat the PVC base material to soften it. Then, use a steel embossing roller to press the pattern into the surface under a pressure of 20 to 50 tons. Finally, immediately shape the texture with a cold water roller at 10-15℃. The embossing process has extremely high requirements for temperature control. If the temperature is too low, the embossing will be unclear; if it is too high, the material may be scorched.
4. Surface treatment
UV coating: Spray a UV-absorbing layer to extend service life
Matte/glossy treatment: Achieved through different surface treatments of the rollers
Printing (optional): Advertising patterns are printed using gravure printing technology
Conclusion
After all manufacturing processes are completed, PVC embossing tarpaulin needs to undergo strict quality inspection. The rolls that pass the inspection will be labeled, wrapped with PE film and then stored in the warehouse, waiting to be dispatched.
From a pile of white powder to a tough and durable waterproof fabric, the production of PVC embossing tarpaulin combines materials science with precise engineering technology.
